The Gallerion Maritime Collection developed over 40 years as the private collection of Sergio Gobbo, a designer and photographer. It includes 30 larger and 300 smaller models of sailing ships, cruisers, battleships, submarines, and other exhibits.
Aquarium Pula and Gallerion
Aquarium Pula acquired the collection in February 2023 to bring visitors closer to the exploration of the sea during the Austro-Hungarian period, as it is located within two protected Austro-Hungarian fortresses. It was originally displayed in the corridors of the Fort Verudela, and due to space constraints, it was moved in 2024 to a larger area at the Battery San Giovanni.
Gallerion at new location
With a vision of transforming the Gallerion Collection into the Naval Museum Pula, Aquarium Pula acquired part of the former “Arena Trikotaža” building. The collection was relocated from the aquarium and officially opened at its new location on August 25, 2025. In the years ahead, the exhibition will gradually expand to 3,000 m², evolving into a modern Naval Museum.
