ROOM 1 – Pula Harbor and the Battle of Lissa

In this room, visitors can explore the history of Pula Harbour and its development as the main naval base of the Austro-Hungarian Navy. Exhibits highlight how the harbour grew into a powerful maritime and industrial centre, equipped with fortifications, shipyards, and modern naval facilities that shaped the city’s destiny. Guests can also discover more about the famous Battle of Lissa, where the Austro-Hungarian fleet achieved a decisive victory over the Italian navy. 

ROOM 2 – Voyages and Expeditions

This room takes visitors on a journey across the seas, exploring the adventurous spirit of maritime travel. Exhibits feature carefully crafted ship models, authentic navigation instruments, and fascinating souvenirs brought back from distant expeditions. Together, they reveal the challenges, discoveries, and stories of sailors who ventured far beyond the Adriatic.

ROOM 3 – Submarines

This room is dedicated to the hidden world beneath the waves. Visitors can explore detailed models of submarines and learn about the dramatic submarine battles of the First World War.

ROOM 4 – The Austro-Hungarian War Fleet

This room explores the Austro-Hungarian naval fleet during the First World War, showcasing the ships, strategies, and people who served at sea. Visitors can see authentic uniforms and caps, illustrating the life and rank of naval officers and sailors. A special section is dedicated to Baron Gautsch, commemorating the 110th anniversary of its sinking, highlighting the story of the ship, its crew, and its place in naval history.
